Curvy Celebrations

Stampin’ Up! Curvy Celebrations ~ Three Cards and Tutorial

This Brand New and Exclusive Bundle is Available for a Very Limited Time ~ All Occasion Suite of Stamps, Dies and Designer Series Paper

I just received my Quite Curvy Bundle, which is just a part of the full Curvey Celebrations Bundle, and I am making a few cards for you. I think you will agree, they’re Awesome!

You can make Christmas Cards, New Year’s Cards, Valentine’s Cards and almost any occasion with this amazing bundle.

My personal favorite part of this suite is that they are CURVY, lol yep, no straight lines here. The most versatile set I have played with in a long time.

I have a list of the supplies below, so you can replicate any of these cards and create 100’s more. Plus there is a PDF download below showing all of the features of the suite.

Card #1 ~ You’re One in a Million

I just love this font, I am currently adoring the deep Pretty Peacock ink and cardstock and the Forever Greenery designer series paper here is just FUN!

Card #2 ~ Wishing You the Happiest of Birthdays!

Stampin Up Curvy Celebrations Larris Livin Lite

Now, I hope you will agree… This card is just stunning! It is crisp, striking, classic, clean, all of the good feels…

I used the Peony Garden designer series paper in a very subdued pattern of peonies in gray and white. Then gave it a great punch with the basic black cardstock, on a white background. The only color I brought in is the very light petal pink. So pretty!

Card #3 ~ Thinking of You Makes My Day!

Another card featuring the Forever Greenery designer series paper. Gorgeous! If you love teal, turquoise and all the deep greenery colors, this is one you cannot pass by without admiring. I also added some rhinestones from last year’s Noble Peacock suite, unfortunately, they are no longer available. However, I think the Holiday Rhinestones #150457 and the Rhinestone Basic Jewels #144220 will work just as well here.

I simply embossed the Terra Cotta Tile cardstock with the Basket Weave embossing folder, then cut a circle out of it (using the layering circle dies), sort of off to the right side, making a “window” where you can see through to the front of the card.

Then on the front of the card, I lined up my “thanks” stamp with this new window and stamped once with the Soft Suede ink pad. Then I stamped again with the Versamark and added the Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder before heat setting this greeting.

This is a terrific embossing technique for getting the exact color you want while also added a high gloss and raised image from the clear embossing powder.

The flowers were all stamped on the Whisper White Heavy cardstock with the Soft Suede ink. I then die cut the images and used our sponge daubers to just add a little color around them. I just dabbed on some Mango Melody, Terra Cotta Tile and a little Daffodil Delight.

The leaves were all stamped on the Whisper White Heavy cardstock with Pear Pizzazz Ink and die cut.

I then just put everything together. Added a layer of the Braided Burlap Trim, glued the flowers and leaves on top, then added 3 of the gorgeous Champagne Rhinestones to each of the small flowers.

This is definitely a multi-step card, however, it was fun and not difficult at all.

Supplies:

(all measurements in inches)

Checkin’ in… How are you?

Summer Sale and Printable Calendars are Here!

July 2020 Monthly Calendar Free Printable Planner Pages Summer Night
July Free Monthly Printables are Here

A note to my friends…

How are you holding up? I haven’t checked in on you in a while. Are you doing okay?

It is a crazy time and I feel, now more than ever…. A need to reconnect. How about you?

This whole, being quarantined thing… well, it has tested all of us in many ways. Emotionally, financially, and physically I have seen many changes in myself, my friends and my family. I’ve seen many people appear to be cruising right through this… taking all the changes in stride. On the other hand I have seen many who have been devastated, losing their job, even closing their business. Some even losing a loved one to the virus, or becoming ill.

I guess I feel I’m somewhere in the middle? I mean I haven’t lost a loved one and everyone is staying isolated and healthy, thank goodness! On most days I feel I am taking things in stride and trying to stay positive and take advantage of the “down time.” However, I also have had some personal blows to work through. I have lost a lot of income and am feeling the financial struggle. I lost a big client because they are no longer able to keep their business running. I’ve also struggled with my emotions and feelings through isolation and even feeling sometimes a little hopeless.

Where are you and how are you feeling about things? Share your thoughts, feelings or frustrations by responding to this note, or feel free to send me a direct message.

I miss the “good ol days!” Things seemed simpler, happier and mostly they seemed more connected and vibrant. I miss my family and friends. I miss feeling spontaneous and adventurous.

Today, my spontaneous adventures amount to an unscheduled trip to the fridge, or a random Planner Spread not using a predetermined “kit.”

I’m still planning and crafting though. Some days it is harder to find the motivation, but when I do work on projects I tend to feel better and it helps bring me a little joy, relax me after a long day, and sometimes it still fires me up with creativity and so many ideas to share. I just enjoy the moments when I can, but I haven’t found the drive needed to actually try to share anything in a while.

Well, as I began writing this note to you, it turned into a book. As I am now reading my draft it is clear I need to break this up into a couple different messages. I’ve decided I will send you a series of notes over the next few days to check in, say hello, and address each of the crafty areas that many of us indulge in.

Over the next few days you will see a message addressing each of these areas:

  1. Planner Friends
  2. Crafty Friends
  3. My Handmade Shoppers
  4. My Stampin’ Up! Shoppers
  5. My Giveaway Subscribers and Winners!!

So please stick with me and participate in the conversation with me.

I’ll be sharing more photos and more on social media too, and I’ll be announcing a new posting schedule for videos, tutorials, freebies, etc.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Summer Vacation, Time Blocking and Your Creative Mind

Wow, where’d the summer go? Well, if you’re in California like myself, the heat has yet to let up, but the days are getting shorter and many are returning to school. I must admit I did take a mini vacation last week to enjoy the sun in Lake Tahoe. Such a beautiful place and when the heat is on, Lake Tahoe is the place to be!

Kayak Lake Tahoe

So now it is time to go back to work, get organized, and if we do it right… we’ll block time in our planners for the things we love. Of course our loved ones and friends, but don’t forget to block time for your hobbies and activities you enjoy. I find if I don’t block the time, my creative projects never get finished. Not only does it bother me when I don’t finish them, but it doesn’t allow me to express my creativity.

Only when I make time to create or dive into my hobbies do I feel truly fulfilled and often enjoy a great sense of accomplishment when I complete a project. Whether it is a greeting card I can send to someone to brighten their day, reorganizing a space in my home, sewing a quilt, or reading a great book… the activity you choose, doesn’t matter as much as the way it can make you feel. Sometimes the only creative outlet I have is setting up my planner for the week ahead. I highly encourage everyone to Block Your Calendar with some time for the activities that fill your heart and replenish your soul.

Shopping Hangover? or “No Spend” Success?

Are You Okay? Ready for More Deals?

Whew…  We made it… I must admit I had a Shopping Hangover yesterday. But it was totally worth it right?

Did you take advantage of any of the Amazon Prime Day sales? What did you get? How about the HSN 24 Hr Craft Event? As you may have noticed it was extended to 26 Hours this time! Wowza. Please feel free to share your thoughts and shopping hauls via email or by commenting. I would love to hear how you did. Or even if you’re on a “No Spend” did you watch any of the deals? Did you break your “No Spend” rule or were you good?

I was not a Good Girl. Although, I had been “window” shopping for a couple weeks in advance, I did buy a little more than I had anticipated. But the good news is that I do not feel guilty and I did not spend more than I could afford! That is very important to me. I have saved up for several of these items and was patient enough to wait for these sales so I could get the best pricing possible and I feel it was a very well thought out plan. Well, except for a couple extra little items that landed in my shopping cart at the last minute! 😊

What did I get? Well, here is a list of the goodies I am looking forward to playing with soon. I will have some upcoming videos I’m sure, maybe unboxing and sharing what I have made with them. I think my first box is arriving tomorrow! I’m so excited!

Amazon:

  • Epson Workforce Sublimation Printer! I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS ONE
  • InkXPro CISS System for the Printer
  • Frog Tape – Low Tack Tape for Painting (I am still painting my Craft Room and will show pictures as soon as I finish. It is coming out nicely!!)
  • SUNCOO Heat Transfer Machine! Yay! I cannot wait to make some beautiful coffee mugs and all kinds of fun customized goodies!

HSN:

  • Cricut Make Adaptive Tool Set (The Wavy Blade, Debossing Tip, Engraving Tip and the Perforation Blade.)
  • Crafter’s Companion Glass Cutting Mat
  • Wolverine Titan High-Resolution Film-to-Digital Converter bundle
  • Crafter’s Companion Subscription Box. Similar to Stampin’ Up!’s Paper Pumpkin Kits, but the Crafter’s Companion is more expensive. I just wanted to try it out for comparison. So, I’ll let you know if it is any better.

Now, the most important thing is that I still have money set aside to purchase some items on my Stampin’ Up! Wish List and I will be doing that in the next 2 days.

Don’t forget Stampin’ Up! is also having a Great Sale this month called Bonus Days!!!

Stampin’ Up! Bonus Days Are Here!

For every $50 you spend July 1–31 (before shipping and tax), you’ll get a $5 Bonus Days coupon code that can be used August 1–31, 2019. It’s just like earning Kohl’s Cash, we all love free stuff right? There is no limit to how many coupons you can earn, so now’s the perfect time to get items on your wish list from the 2019-2020 annual catalog

HSN’s 24 Hour Craft Day Event

Starts TODAY ~ 10pm EST or 7pm PDT, July 15

If you’re not familiar with shopping HSN.com (Home Shopping Network) well, I have some great news for you! It seems back in the day, televised shopping channels were more of an annoyance, silly items that only your grandmother would consider buying. Over the years I’ve found much respect and LOVE for HSN.com and QVC.com. Sister stations that have evolved into something quite fun, with amazing prices on products I love! Did they truly evolve or am I just closer to my grandmother’s age? Hmmmm…

Anyhow, every few months, it seems quarterly now, HSN hosts an amazing 24 Hour Craft Day event. They have great prices, exclusive bundles you cannot find anywhere else and some of our favorite and most popular brands for crafting.

HSN 24 Hour Craft Event

Here are some highlights:

  • There is always a Today’s Special that is the best price and usually a bundle of great products.

  • During their 24 Hour Craft Day Events you save a TON on shipping!!! Anything you order will be shipped for $5. That’s it. Even if you submit several different orders, as many items as you like, everything ships for one flat rate of $5 (assuming you complete your orders within the hours of the event.)

Beach Happy

Beach Happy Larris Livin Lite

Today I am sharing a card I made using the super fun Beach Happy stamp set from Stampin’ Up! I just adore this stamp set and thought I would even share it with Kylie’s International Blog Highlights for April 2019. You can find this stamp set in the 2019 Occasions Catalog pg 37.

The theme is “Encouragement” so I used the sentiment Wishing You Sunny Days, included in the Beach Happy set.

The colors I chose were Lovely Lipstick, Powder Pink, Soft Sea Foam with a tiny bit of Crumb Cake. I used some glycerin with my sponge daubers to blend the background using the Soft Sea Foam for the sky and some Crumb Cake for the beach sand.

I also pulled in the Seaside embossing folder for the look of waves on the layer of Soft Sea Foam cardstock.

So, what do you think?

If you like this note of encouragement as much as I do, please Vote for Me here in this awesome International Blog Highlight. If I receive enough votes I may be able to participate in Kylie’s upcoming Blog Hop!! Whoot Whoot!

Vote for my Beach Happy Card if you LOVE it!

Feel free to email me with any questions and if you would like to shop my Stampin’ Up! store you can click here!

Hope to see your vote today and I will catch you in the next post!
